5 Most Important Things NOT to say to a Journalist.



Even in this digital age, Print Media is still a powerful stage to boost your company.   Press and media scope can incredibly support your profile and assemble your reputation, credibility and trust. Getting the consideration of journalists is one thing, however addressing them is another. Fail to understand the situation and you could put your reputation and that of your business at danger. Never say a journalist these silly things.

   1.   “Just print whatever I have sent you and send it back to me for approval”: We have full control over our articles we are submitting to journalists but once the article is reached to them then we are no one to approve our content. Journalist is not bound by you but by their editor, readers and followers.

   2.   “Just use the same articles with a little change”: This is the worst statement you are giving to any journalist plagiarism is the worst thing can happen with you with your article.

   3.   “Being a journalist must be easy”: Some people believe that a journalist jas an easy job as they just need to publish the news submitted to them. But on the contrary, journalism is a challenging job and it requires some special abilities and perseverance. Hours of exploration and different meetings go into making one uplifting news story. Delving into a point and getting to the heart of a story might take days or weeks of hard-battled exertion.

   4.   “You are keeping some of those photos right”:  You cannot compel any Journalist that to add some of the photos regarding your article. Your journalist is responsible to write and publish everything he wishes.

   5.   Basic point - don’t ever lie to them:  Regardless of the possibility that you feel under pressure in a meeting with a writer, there is no reason for lying.  The key is to follow up and provide the additional information you promised. As if you lie then you dig yourself into a big problem, your reputation will be hammered once your problem is exposed.
